Health Volunteers Brave Muddy Roads to Continue House-to-House Check-Ups

Heavy rains left the roads flooded and muddy, but health volunteers kept walking house to house so residents could still get their regular check-ups.

Flooded paths and muddy roads didn't stop the health volunteers from continuing their community check-ups after days of heavy rain. Carrying their bags and supplies, with a pedicab hauling their equipment, they walked through the wet, slippery roads to reach residents in every part of the barangay.

The rainy season often makes it harder for residents, especially seniors and people with health conditions, to travel to health centers. So the volunteers went to them, checking blood pressure, asking how residents were feeling and reminding families how to stay safe and healthy during the rainy months.

Residents thanked the team for coming even in bad weather. Some said the visits meant a lot because they couldn't have left home to get checked.

The volunteers said bad weather is no reason to stop caring for the community. They promised to keep the regular house-to-house visits going in every season so that no resident is left without care.
