Go Bike Teaches Bandaging and First Aid to Youth in an Outdoor Community Training
Young people from the community learned bandaging and basic first aid in an outdoor training led by Go Bike, which is working toward safer and more resilient communities.
Under the shade of bamboo trees, young people from the community gathered for a hands-on first aid training led by Go Bike. Following its mission of "Saving Lives One Ride at a Time," Go Bike brought the lessons right into the neighborhood so more residents could take part.
The facilitator walked participants through basic bandaging, including how to wrap injuries to the head, chest and hands, and how to care for burns. A stretcher was also set up so participants could see how to move an injured person safely.
The session was kept friendly and relaxed, and participants were encouraged to ask questions and share their own experiences. Many said they felt more ready to respond when accidents happen at home, in school or on the road.
Go Bike believes that teaching first aid to young people is an important step toward building safe and resilient communities. The organization plans to bring more trainings like this to other barangays so that more residents are ready to help in emergencies.
