Free Blood Pressure Check-Ups Held for Mangatarem Senior Citizens
Senior citizens of Mangatarem lined up for free blood pressure check-ups at a community health outreach led by young volunteers. Working in pairs with stethoscopes and blood pressure monitors, the volunteers checked each senior's reading and wrote down the results.

The volunteers took time to talk with each senior, explain their readings and give simple advice on keeping blood pressure at a healthy level. They also reminded the seniors to eat well, drink enough water and keep up their regular medicines.

Members of the Mangatarem Senior Citizens group helped organize the activity, and many seniors said they were thankful to have a check-up close to home. Regular blood pressure monitoring helps catch possible health problems early, especially for older residents who may have trouble getting to a clinic.

Organizers said they plan to hold check-ups like this regularly so that seniors in the community keep getting the care and attention they need.
